Lets Go For a Stroll in Baghdad!

But, the "Straight Talk Express" wouldn't lie to me, right?

I'm Convinced

Michael Lerner outlines the case, in better detail than I've seen anywhere else, for why the United States should withdraw its troops from Iraq now, no matter what:

War in Iraq: Four Years and Counting

I'm sure it's not necessary to repeat details of the massive, wasteful, and bloody human sacrifice this so-called war of choice has been.

A bit of recommended reading. . .

Congressman and Marine John Murtha's take on where we stand now, at the four year mark.

Author and historian Barry Lando puts this war in the context of the recent history of the long-suffering people of Iraq. Read it and ask yourself (a question repeatedly drummed into me by Mr. Congeniality), "What in the Hell did the Iraqi people ever do to us?"

Anyone still wondering about the real reasons behind the invasion? This op-ed might be very enlightening. Mission accomplished?

Finally, take some time and read what Seymour Hersh, who broke the My Lai Massacre and Abu Ghraib, says about an alleged shift in policy that has the administration funneling secret funding of Sunni (and likely Al-Qaeda-connected) terrorist groups against growing Shia power in the Middle-East. Yes, that's secret support of the ones who we're supposed to be fighting. Don't reach for your tinfoil hat, just read it. And consider that it's time for us to stop meddling in the region's ongoing power struggle. Enough damage has been done.

And Now For Something Completely Different. . .

The towering idiocy, the all-consuming incompetence of the Administration has risen to surreal levels. I feel a political rant coming on. . . but where to start? Maybe tomorrow if I have time.

Meanwhile, here's a cat playing a piano.

"Making the Cut"

This is a promo piece for a new "reality" pilot I did with my friends Tom and Joel. I'm not usually big on most reality TV or particularly knowledgeable (well, until now) about the world of high-end hairstyling, but this was a really interesting project because we basically built it, in 44 and 22-minute versions, from the ground up working through over 500 hours of raw footage. No interviews, no confessionals, no interference from the producers, no narration at all; just the real drama (with a lot of dramatic tweaking from the magic of editing) of fresh young assistant stylists trying to make it in California's top salon with it's big money, big egos, and cutthroat competition. In case it isn't obvious, this is the hardest kind of show to pull off!

But the response so far as been overwhelmingly positive, so it seems we've made a pretty good one. Keep your fingers crossed that a deal is in the works.

Based on the promo, is this something you'd watch? Let me know. . .
