a little taste of the Crescent City...

So we just finished week one of a month of six day weeks. Liz came to town last week and has been working with us on set. We are starting to settle in to a bunch of our work on the Ferry which involes a lot of background and a bit of time going in circles in the port.

Not to drop back in time too much, but in trying to catch up, here are a few pics from Morgan City ( about two hours outside of New Orleans) We were there two or three weeks ago (I've lost track) It was a cool little city and our set, which was a 45 min drive from the hotels, was in the middle of the Bayou. There was an amazing amount of wildlife out there including bald eagles, owls, and many other types of birds, as well as the giant mosquitoes. Luckily, we had two weeks of cold weather which helped to keep the mosquitoes at bay.

When we returned to NO it was the final weekend of Mardi Gras, just before Fat Tuesday, and we went out to film some of the parades, and let me just say, this town knows how to have a parade!

The French Quarter is beautiful, and our time filming down there has been fantastic. I have become a huge fan of the architecture and I am now determined to figure out how to install gas lanterns at home...

More to come soon.
