What We Lost, 40 Years Ago Tonight
We all wonder what might have been. I try to resist sentimentality. (I admit I'm not completely successful at that.) We have to learn from Bobby Kennedy. We have to help, in some way, to carry on his legacy, his wisdom and -- yes -- his hope.
The dialogue in this video is his eulogy, given at St. Patrick's Cathedral by Ted Kennedy. In case it's not completely clear, the bulk of it is Ted reading from Bobby's famous "Day of Affirmation Address."
And this is a short video of his final journey home.

Duck and Cover
If you happen to be in Kansas, that is.
I just heard Anderson Cooper say that forecasters are calling tonight's storm system over the plains *the scariest they've seen since 1974*. If you know anything about how bad tornado outbreaks have been in this country. . . that's an extremely scary statement.
And it's been a record-breaking year for twisters already. . .
(I mean, holy fuck. . .)

P.S. I haven't been able to find out who Anderson was quoting, but mentioning 1974 has to be a reference to the worst tornado episode in recorded history -- The Super Outbreak. 148 twisters, over 300 people killed.
